Chương 7: Người vô hình (Eng)

When it was time for me to take a break, I entrusted everything Ayanokoji-kun and left the classroom.

"Even so- I would've never thought that he would make Chabashira-sensei transform into a maid."

I had discussed all the preparations for the festival with Ayanokoji-kun in advance.

He told me that the last hour of the festival would feature Chabashira, but to think that this is what he meant.

But not only have they shown that they were able to convince her, it ended up having a tremendous effect.

Every time I walked down the hallway, I could hear rumors about her being dressed as a maid.

Anyways, her participation in the cultural festival was a good thing for me personally.

With the large amount of attention attracted in the special building, it inevitably drew people away from other places.

I sent them a message on my cell phone and made sure they had read it before I headed to the student council room.

The reason was that I wanted to go over those notes one more time.

Of course, I could have asked Yagami-kun to come on the day of the student council meeting, but that would have made it impossible for me to observe the meeting in a calm manner.

He seems like the type of person to make Ayanokoji-kun drop out of school.

He also seems to have a connection with Amasawa-san and she is a dangerous person with extremely high physical ability.

If it is Yagami, he will know that I would suspecting him if I were to ask him to show me his notes of the meeting again.

In order to make sure nobody saw me, it was necessary to pick a time when nobody was around.

The student council meeting was closed for a while due to the rumors about president of the student council Nagumo.

In other words, finding an opportunity to spy on the notes of the meeting was limited, but it seems like other coincidental circumstances were playing out in my favor.

I thought that the timing of this festival was the best time to take advantage of this opportunity.

I reported to Chabashira-sensei in the morning that there was a high possibility that I had left my notebook in the Student Council Room, and she gave me permission to go to the staff room during break time to get the key and pick it up.

Even if I were to step into the student council room now and be seen, I would still have a good reason.

I quickly changed from my maid's uniform to my school uniform and headed for the staff room.

"Fifty minutes to go."

As I walked by the student council room, I looked at the clock in the hallway and let out a breath.
Today has been one busy day.

It wasn't over yet, but my part in it was done.

I was obliged to take a one-hour break, and when the break was over, so was the festival.

I was really busy in the morning, wearing a maid's uniform and working without a break.

After changing into my uniform, I walked to the student council room and quietly inserted the key into the door.

The Student Council Room was empty because of the festival today, so there was no one there. I thought I would be able to check the notes again and take pictures on my cell phone.

That's what I thought but....

My phone trembled in my pocket, and I received a call.

I was startled when I saw the name.

Takuya Yagami.

Why is he calling me at this time.....?

Despite the scary coincidence, I answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Horikita-senpai."

Yagami's voice, which should be over the phone, reaches my ear from a little distance.

The person I did not want to see the most right now is looking at me and waving his hand with a smile.

I felt a chill run through my body, as if my heart had been doused directly with cold water.

"Did I startle you?"

With that, he stepped closer to me, hanging up his cell phone.

"Why are you here, Yagami?"

"Why are am I here....? Did you not notice that I called you from this close by?"

I was conscious of other things that I didn't even notice.

It was as if Yagami was trying to find out how upset and flustered I was.

"By the way, why are you in such an unpopulated place? Isn't it time for you to make your final preparations for the festival?"

"I was out on break, so my role in the festival is over. I just wanted to be alone for a little while."

"You are taking a break at 3:00 p.m.? You chose an unusual pattern, didn't you?

I wonder if it was an usual time?

I have never experienced a festival like this before, so I had no criteria to judge.

However, since it is a rule that all participants must take an hour off, there must be a certain percentage of students like me who choose to take a break at 3:00 p.m. I am not sure if this is unusual or not.

My train of thought could not immediately come up with an answer, and I fell silent for a few seconds.

Then I realized.

I was so surprised to find out that there is no truth or lie in the words "usual pattern" uttered by Yagami-kun.

The statement was merely an attempt to find out whether I had chosen 3 p.m. as my break time without any other intention, or whether I had chosen it with a goal in mind.

In fact, I was so upset that I could not respond immediately.

No matter how I responded next, I may have already fallen into his trap.

No, not yet.

Since my response late now, there was an option to go through with it.

I'll have to ignore the word "usual pattern" just once.

"So why are you here, Yagami-kun?"

"I saw Horikita-san with a grim look on her face, so I got curious and followed you."

"Since when? Whatever the reason, it's odd to just follow a girl like that."

"I tried to call out to you, but I guess you couldn't hear me over the noise."

On the way here, I was definitely deep in thought.

But, did I really not notice him calling out to me?

I can't help but feel that I'm being asked the same question as before, but there may be no real meaning to this whole sequence of events.

And they could have made any number of calls before I got here.

Or perhaps he didn't follow me, but he was in the vicinity from the beginning ......?

This entire time I've been assuming that Yagami-kun was the person I've been trying to find with that good handwriting.

If he has nothing to do with it, I'll just apologize later.

"Were you allowed to leave the festival?"

"I'm in the same situation as you. I've already done what I had to do. I have free time, but not break time. There is no rule that says you can't take a break for more than an hour."

Was it just a coincidence after all? No, I shouldn't think that way.

If it turns out to be a coincidence, then there is no problem.

But if it is not a coincidence, then I'm in trouble.

"Is there something I can do for you in the student council room? I don't think anyone is in there."

Yagami-kun looks at the door of the student council room and answers, as if he was anticipating I would go in.

"I'm just looking for something. I borrowed the key from the staff room, so it won't be a problem."

"You're looking for something? If so, I'll help you find it."

In my mind, calmness and impatience compete with each other, and they begin to battle.

I can't tell for sure if he's just being nice or if he has bad intentions.

"I don't need your help."

"But It's so important to you that you went to the trouble of looking for it in the middle of a cultural festival?"

It sounded as if he was looking right through me, taking my thoughts completely naked.

"It's a notebook. I bought it a while ago, but I can't find it. I've almost given up on it, but it still bothers me, and the only place I didn't look at it is the student council room."

There was no point in spending any more time here.

The best way to do this is to tell Yagami the lie that I told the teachers.

"I will help with the search. After the festival is over, things will get hectic again. It will simply be twice as efficient to search with two people instead of one, won't it?"

"Yes, you're right."

I unlocked the door slowly and opened it.

I was about to step into the student council room with Yagami standing right next to me when I stopped moving.

"Horikita-senpai?"

"I was wondering if two people are really needed to look for a lost item in the Student Council Room. Do you have some other goal in mind?

"Eh--?"

Under the circumstances, I decided to fight back.

"I refused to allow you to help me because, frankly, I felt a little scared."

"Scared... scared of what?"

"You don't know?"

"I can't think of any reason."

"The student council room was deserted, and I didn't even notice that someone had called out to me. It was as if I was being followed, and the two of us were left alone. Do you know what that means for a girl?"

Here, I didn't focus on myself as an individual, but rather on social gender differences in order to challenge him.

Regardless of whether he is smart or not, I will drive him away in an absolute way.

"Well, I see. I'm sorry, I didn't think of that all..."

In this situation, it would be impossible to enter the student council room bypassing the hallway, and waiting in the hallway would not be an option.

It is natural to feel uncomfortable in this situation.

"I am sorry. I am sure that my behavior was in the wrong."

Yagami-kun bowed deeply.

"Excuse me, but would you mind if I asked you somthing?"

"What is it?"

He continued to lower his head, but did not raise it again.

"What is the real purpose of my visit to the student council office?"

"The real purpose of Horikita-san's visit to the student council room was..."

Immediately after Yagami-kun raised his face---

He suddenly loses his posture and folds his upper body right in front of me.

No, it was useless.

"I got him!"

With a voice, Ibuki-san appeared, dressed in kimono.

"Wait, wait, Ibuki-san!?"

"Don't just stand there, get inside! We'll be in big trouble if we're seen!"

It would certainly be a big problem if I were discovered, as it would appear to be an obvious act of violence.

When I opened the door to the student council room, Ibuki-san forcibly pushed Yagami-kun into the room.

"What are you doing....?

The first person to speak out was, of course, the victim, Yagami-kun.

Ibuki-san appears from behind him and Yagami-kun was confused at the fact he was being restrained.

"You were saved again by my efforts, weren't you, Horikita?"

".... You've helped me out, but you didn't save me..."

"You told me to be very careful with him . And that you were being pressed by him. It's normal to think there's something going on here."

She says things she doesn't have to say all at once.

Her single-minded behavior had rendered all my previous conversations useless.

It was nonsense to tell me in front of him that I had been cautious of him.

"What do you mean by being cautious of me?"

Yagami, who is unable to move, asked that question in a natural way.

Now that the situation has come to this, we have no choice but to take it all out on them.

".....I apologize for the intrusive nature of this. But there is something that has been bothering me about you. Do you remember the other day when you showed me the your notes of the meeting?"

"It was in regards to the comments made by Student Council President Nagumo, wasn't it?"

"Yes. I wanted to check again what your writing on the page that I saw at that time."

"Writing? I'm not sure what you're looking for, but it's not just solely about my notebook, right?"

Yagami-kun continues with a puzzled look on his face.

"You said you wanted to check my handwriting, but what did you really mean by that?"

I am curious about what Ibuki-san said befores he appeared, but I continued to explain to him the situation. During the deserted island special exam, a piece of paper was inserted into my tent.

I wanted to know who sent the paper. Yagami was still restrained and was silently listening to the story.

"So this is because the handwriting in my notes and the handwriting on that paper were similar?"

"Yes, that is correct."

"If that's true, I can certainly understand why you would be wary of me. And it would have been the best time to confirm it in secret."

Because of the preparation period for the festival, people were coming and going on weekends, and students were walking all over the school to find stalls, so I had no choice but to take a look at the notes here at this time.

"But I'm not the one who sent that message."

Yagami-kun was in firm denial. I want to believe him, but I couldn't....

When he noticed I started to become more weary of him more he became a little more aggressive.

"Do you have any reason to be skeptical?"

"I have no reason, unfortunately. I just can't rule you out."

"I would be happy to take a look at the piece of paper you are talking about. Then you can compare my notes handwriting with it which should prove my innocence. "

"Unfortunately, that's not possible. I lost the paper in a bit of trouble."

The paper was torn up and thrown away by Amasawa-san, who confronted me on the island.
"I'm at a loss. Doesn't that mean I can't prove my innocence?"

"That's why I want to reconfirm the handwriting on your notes first.

"Even if you take a look at my notes it may not be consistent with your memory, will it? If anything, Horikita-senpai is already strongly suspicious of me. If that's the case there's a chance that I could be wrongly accused. This is clearly a disadvantageous situation for me."

".....I guess you're right."

I don't want it to be Yagami-kun, but I have a strong desire to find the culprit.

I can understand his concern about what will happen next.

"I'm sorry that you suspect me, but can't you let go of my hand first? In any case, I think the two of you should welcome the situation as it is. What are you going to say if you are seen in this situation by Student Council President Nagumo?"

A first-year boy was being restrained for a reason like this.

Certainly, this situation is nothing but a mass of inconvenience for us.

He hasn't particularly done anything wrong so far.

"Ibuki-san let go of his hand."

I gave Ibuki-san instructions that were in line with his words.

But Ibuki's expression was stern as she still held Yagami back and never let up.

"I'm sorry, but that's not going to happen."

"Why is that?"

"Because my intuition tells me that harmless-looking people like you are the most dangerous."
That's something she learned from Ayanokoji-kun.

But it was clear from her attitude that it was more than just a matter of appearances.

"Do you have any other reasons?"

"There's more than what meets the eye. I just have the feeling that you might be dangerous."

I guess it was only because he was in direct contact with Ibuki-san that she was able to understand information other than what I could see.

The person I am looking for is likely to be very skilled.

If this really applies to Yagami-kun, it's no wonder he's a strong suspect.

"The message that was sent to her was very similar to Yagami's handwriting, along with your hidden physical abilities, and the fact that you appeared here."

"I'm certainly averse to physical training, so I'm confident to a certain extent. but...."

I sighed in dismay while Yagami-kun raised his gaze slightly and looked at me.

"I'm a little angry with you, too, if you don't mind. This situation is a little too one-sided."

It would not be surprising if Ibuki-san is right and Yagami-kun has a certain level of physical ability.

Originally, his OAA score was average a C. It is possible that his running speed and sports ability are low, but he may be proficient in martial arts.

Is it white or black?

As the judge is forced to make a decision, the silence is broken in an unexpected way.

The door to the student council room, where no one was supposed to come, opened without warning.

"Wow. - This is a very unusual situation."

The one who showed up was the president of the student council, Nagumo-san. The only one who didn't change his attitude was Yagami-kun, but Ibuki and I were very surprised because we had been acting guilty.

"Student council president, what are you doing here....?"

"More importantly, what's this all about?"

The main reason for Ibuki-san being here was to restrain Yagami-kun.

"If the two of you were working together to bully a younger student, that would be a big problem."

Ibuki, not wanting to continue restraining him, releases her hands and lets Yagami-kun go.

"Thank you very much for your help Student Council President Nagumo."

Yagami-kun looks calm and takes care of his restrained body.

Was Yagami's demeanor calm because he knew the president of the student council would be here?

"Then perhaps you can explain why you are here without permission."

If I said I've lost my notebook Yagami-kun might point out that I'm lying.

However, if the notes of the meeting were to be brought up, it would spread to Student Council President Nagumo.

"I was thinking of helping Horikita-senpai find her notebook because she lost it. Ibuki-senpai seemed to think that I was attacking Horikita-senpai, and her sense of justice led her to act as she did earlier."

He answered in defense of me without trying to push me into a corner.

"I see. That's why you were restrained."

"I think the misunderstanding has been cleared up, and I don't intend to make an issue of it."

"Then there is no need to mention it any further. So, did you find the notebook?"

If he is willing to make an arrangement, I will be happy to go along with it.

"No, we couldn't find it. Maybe I mistook it for trash and threw it away. I'll just give up."

I've confirmed it myself, I don't really care about the whereabouts of the notebook anymore.

The student council president looked away and then sat down in his usual seat.

"Whatever the reason, you shouldn't be doing this in the middle of a cultural festival. You must disband immediately."

Even if I persist here, I will never see the minutes again. I have no choice but to withdraw quietly now.

I was about to leave the room with Ibuki0san but then...

"But then, Student Council President Nagumo, how did you know we were here?"

Besides me and Ibuki-san I was surprised to hear Yagami ask such a question.

"Are you curious?"

"It was thought that the door to the student council room was locked. However, the student president entered the room without hesitation, so I was a little worried."

Indeed, it was unnatural.

Although we did not know if the president of the student council had a spare key or not, he should have tried to open the door once by inserting the key.

It is understandable that they were suspicious of the fact that he entered the room naturally and without question.

It is as if he knew from the beginning that there was someone inside....

Did Student Council President Nagumo plan to meet up with Yagami here?

If that's the case, then it makes sense why Yagami predicted the coming of the Student Council President.

But their communication with each other was far from being in a coordinated manner.

"I'll answer your question, but first I wanted to ask you something, Yagami."

"Me?"

"Do you remember what we talked about in the student council room the other day? There's a rumor that I'm using a lot of money to expel some students."

"Of course. I've been looking into it, but I haven't been able to find out the source of the rumor."

I wasn't following the story that was being talked about here.

"Don't you know what's really going on? Where do you think the rumors are coming from?

".... What do you mean?"

"I'm just asking if you're the one who started that rumor."

In frustration, Student Council President Nagumo lightly kicked the underside of the desk.

"There's no way you're not involved in that. A special exam for the first years to expel a certain student for a prize. You were one of the few who participated."

Yagami's expression was slightly clouded at this point. It was as if he was irritated like Student Council President Nagumo.

"What do you mean, Student Council President Nagumo? What on Earth are you talking about?"

"You denied it at the student council meeting, but it's true."

"Weren't you involved in it too...?"

"But it's not like I broke any rules, you know? It was the school's policy. I was standing with acting director Tsukishiro to maintain impartiality as the student council president. Isn't that right? Yagami."

"I thought we had a rule not to talk about that special exam or its participants?"

"You were the one who broke the rule."

"It wasn't me. There was no merit in bothering Student Council President Nagumo. Besides, there were several other first-year students who received the same explanation."

"Well, yeah but they didn't show up here like you did."

"That was just a coincidence."

The president of the student council, Nagumo-san was looking at Yagami, but then turned his attention to us.

"You guys can go back now. From now on, I will speak with Yagami."

"I didn't know about this, but please allow me to speak."

"Horikita-senpai. What are you going to talk about?"

He looked at me with an angry gaze.

I ignored the pressure he was trying to put on me.

"Tell me."

"I don't know if he was the one who spread the rumors about the special exam, but I don't think it's a coincidence that he showed up here. Yagami-kun was following me here. Either that or he was watching the student council room from the beginning."

"Is what Suzune is saying true?"

Yagami-kun, who was sandwiched between both sides and had a stiff facial expression, then exhaled as if he was amazed.

"I see... I understand now. The two of you have been working together from the beginning. From the moment you gave me that letter disguised as a love letter, you guys decided to force me into a corner, am I right?"

"A ...... letter disguised as a love letter?"

"You mean this?"

What Student Council President Nagumo took out of his pocket was a love letter that I had received from Ichihashi-san.

No, what did he mean by a love letter in disguise?

"I don't understand. It's just a love letter from an unknown sender, expressing his/her feelings for me."

"No, it's not. At first glance, the letter appears to be a love letter, but it says, "Culture Festival, 3:00 p.m., Student Council Room." It also has other words such as "important", "expulsion", and "secret" that were also found throughout the letter. Is that not true?"

Student Council President Nagumo opens the letter that has already been sealed and looks it over.

"Where is it written? I don't see it anywhere."

Then Student Council President Nagumo made a gesture to hand me the love letter...

"Excuse me."

I took the letter and looked through it.

However, I couldn't find those words Yagami-kun said were in here.

Ibuki-san was curious and peeked in, but her reaction was the same as ours.

-I want you to forgive me for confessing without telling you my name. I have always loved you.-

That's the contents of the letter.

"Please stop this monkey business. If you analyze the anagrams, you'll see the truth."

"Anagrams...?"

Aside from Ibuki-san who didn't understand the meaning of the word itself, did this letter really contain an anagram?

An anagram is an arrangement of letters to change their meanings.

A play on words.

Even after repeated exploration, there was no quick answer.

It may take time to find to figure it out, it isn't possible to just understand an anagram in an instant.

"You're very clever, Yagami. It seems that neither Suzune nor I can analyze anagrams right away."

Yagami-kun is just as wary of us as we are of him.

"Did either of you write this? Or was it by an acquaintance you both have in common?"

"Common acquaintance? Who the hell are you talking about?"

"...... No, I don't know, but you can trust that I have followed the anagram to this place."

Even if he did come here because of that, he is still saying some strange things right now.

"It doesn't matter if there's an anagram in this or not. How did you know in advance what was in this love letter? You read it before you handed it to me, didn't you?"

That's right.

There's no other way he would've known what was inside.

"It was a coincidence. When I dropped the letter, the seal peeled off and the contents came out. I knew I shouldn't look at it, but I couldn't help looking through it."

"This is unethical behavior for a member of the student council."

It is understandable that you would want to steal a glance, but normally you would restrain yourself.

And it is a letter exchanged by a third party who has nothing to do with you.

Why would anyone want to take the risk of checking the contents of such a letter?

It's true that not knowing the sender's name might tick your curiosity, but that doesn't mean you should check what's inside.

"You're the one who usually gets all dirty, so that's why you checked inside, right? You thought you were being framed somehow."

"Even if I told you otherwise, I don't think you'd believe me."

I felt strangely uncomfortable in this series of discussions.

The world as I see it, the world as Yagami sees it, and the world as Student Council President Nagumo sees it.

I couldn't help but feel that they were all a little different from each other.

They seem to be meshing, but they are not. It was like something was stuck in my back teeth.

It is a bad thing that Yagami-kun read the letter without permission.

The fact that he spread a bad rumor about Student Council President Nagumo and the minutes of the meeting are still ambiguous.

I can't clearly judge whether it was intentional or coincidental that he appeared in front of the Student Council Room.

I'm not going to go any further with this accusation against Yagami-kun...

Yagami looked at me and Student Council President Nagumo in turn and smiled slightly.

"It's about time we started answering each other. You all know now, don't you?"

After a moment of silence, Yagami began to speak.

"When you saw my notes, you recalled the paper from the deserted island test and thought I was the culprit. Then, you gave a letter to Student Council President Nagumo, disguised as a love letter, and secretly sent a message to him."

For some reason, he started to mention the notes and the paper, which he had not mentioned up to this point.

"Why would we have to go through such a tedious process? Why would we go through all that trouble, when we could've just called or chat about this?"

"I'm sure you were just trying to leave no evidence of your suspicions about me. This letter disguised as a love letter can be used as a cover for any number of reasons. And you guys wanted to check the notes together. To confirm whether or not I'm the person Horikita-san is looking for."

"The deserted island? Notes? The person Suzune is looking for? What are you even talking about?"

"Are you still planning to continue the play, Student Council President Nagumo? We already know that you and Horikita-san are acting under the direction of a certain person. It's all under the direction of Ayanokoji-senpai, who created the anagram of this letter, isn't it? I feel bad for him. I'm sure he had already arrived at the destination before we had to show the minutes to Horikita-senpai."

"......Why is Ayanokoji-kun's name popping up here?"

"He's very circuitous, isn't he? I thought he didn't like to be publicized, but I didn't expect him to contact me in this way."

He laughs in an amused manner. Yagami-kun's attitude has clearly changed from before.

"So what happens next? Am I finally going to face Ayanokoji-senpai?"

Yagami-kun looked at the doorway like a child with a box of gifts in front of him.

"I'm going to be very patient. I'd like to know what you've been hearing about me until he arrives. I would especially like to hear it from you, Horikita-senpai."

"Wait. I really don't know what's going on. I suspected that you came to my tent and sent me a letter, but I only talked to Ibuki-san about it."

I told him the truth, but he didn't seem to believe me.

"Explain it to me in a way I can understand, Yagami."

"I'm getting tired of it, Student Council President Nagumo. Through the letter, you and Horikita-san planned to meet up with Ayanokoji-senpai here. And he was planning to talk to me. He must have thought it was dangerous to meet me alone. Yes, a wise decision indeed."

"I'm sorry to interrupt your passionate mood, Yagami, but I'll tell you why I came to the Student Council Room."

Student Council President Nagumo takes out his cell phone and turns the screen toward us.

A phone number was displayed to indicate that someone was calling.

"I think he's arrived. Come on in."

He tells the other person on the other end of the line.

"Ahahahaha! I knew Ayanokouji-senpai was here! I'm so happy!"

Laughing loudly, Yagami-kun opens his arms to welcome the slow opening of the door.

"I'm here to interrupt you."

With these words, someone unexpectedly entered the room.

The first to react was not me, Student Council President Nagumo, or Yagami, but Ibuki-san.

"Eh? Ryuuen? Why are you here?"

Ryuuen-kun was not the only one who showed up. There were also two of his classmates.

"Oh, you look pretty good in that outfit Ibuki. Right Kinoshita?"

"Yeah you're right, she's cute."

"What? Wait, Komiya? And even Kinoshita is here....?"

And to top it all off, Sakagami-sensei and Mashima-sensei showed up later in the student council room.

"What is ......? What is this?"

The most stunned person was Yagami, who was saying things we didn't understand.

"The reason I came to the student council room was to talk to Ryuuen and the others. Isn't that right?"

Yagami-lun was looking at them with a grim expression on his face, as if he didn't understand the current situation.

Student Council President Nagumo stood up and forced the letter onto Yagami's chest.

"Anagrams masquerading as love letters, notes, they don't make any sense to me, Yagami."

"... That shouldn't be the case. What is the meaning of this...?"

Ryuuen-kun approached Yagami-kun, who couldn't hide his confusion.

He pointed his finger and said:

"Is this the person you guys were talking about?"

Ryuuen-kun confirms something saying this to Komiya-kun and others standing modestly behind him.

The two men nodded their heads in a nervous manner.

"Yeah, I'm sure of it."

"Yes, there's no doubt about it."

Hearing this, Ryuuen-kun approached Yagami-kun with a faint smile on his face. He was so close that he could reach him if he stretched out his arm.

"I'll be sure to have a good conversation with you."

"What do you mean?"

Ryuuen-kun smiled, stretched out his right arm and suddenly grabbed Yagami-kun by his bangs.

"Ryuen!"

When Mashima-sensei scolds him for his violent behavior, he shows no sign of paying attention.

"What's your name again?"

"....Yagami, I'm Takuya Yagami, Ryuuen-senpai."

Yagami's hair is pulled up and his face turns into one of anguish.

"I see... Yagami. I heard that you are the culprit who made Komiya and Kinoshita faces pretty."

"Wa......? I don't understand what that means."

"Don't play dumb. Komiya and Kinoshita remembered something just the other day. The reason they got seriously injured in the desert island test was because you violated them."

Severely injured on the deserted island exam.

I know they suffered a serious injury that resulted in a broken bone, but I thought it was an accident caused by carelessness.....

"That can't be! Me? What the hell are you talking about!"

"They lost their memories due to the shock of the injury, and we dismissed it as an accident, but now they remember. You were the culprit, and you know it."

In response, Student Council President Nagumo also acknowledged this.

"It was only yesterday. I was going to have a discussion with Ryuuen, Komiya and Kinoshita alone today, but why are the teachers here?"

"I called them here to save you the trouble. I heard Sakagami-sensei rushed over when they were injured."

"Speaking of Yagami-kun... Mashima-sensei, I'm sure that..."

As if remembering something, Sakagami-sensei asks Mashima-sensei for confirmation on something.

"Yes, I don't want to suspect the students, but I can't deny that ...... it is a possibility."

"What are you talking about? I didn't do anything!"

It was understandable that he was in a panic. I can't keep up with what's going on in my head either.

"Yagami. I know that the GPS on your wristwatch stopped working when the two alerts went off that day. There were several students whose watches were broken during the special exam, but only two, including you, were able to contact Komiya and the others from the location where they last disappeared. Of course, at the time, Komiya, Kinoshita, and Shinohara only said that someone had injured them, but they couldn't say their names. So we had no choice but to treat it as an accident."

"They said they had no memory of it, but at the same time they remembered it and mentioned my name? That's impossible! It's impossible! They must have been able to put together a story to put my name out there!"

"The fact that your wristwatch was broken is a fact that the general public didn't know."

More than 400 people were taking the test on a deserted island.

Two of them were wearing watches with broken GPS at the time they were injured.

Surely this is too small a chance to be called a coincidence.

"I remember seeing you. What's your basis for your doubts about my claims, Yagami?"

Ryuuen began to put more strength into his fingertips and pulled on Yagami's hair.

"Ow .....! That's not true--"

"You weren't be seen by anyone, and you must pulled it of perfectly. You think so too, right?"

"No, wait a minute. I did not do anything. Do you really think I'm capable of such a terrible thing?"

Yagami isn't a very big person.

To the casual observer, this may seem strange.

But Ryuuen-kun does not believe Yagami's words at all.

"I've learned from the past that the ones who look harmless are the most troublesome. Right, Ibuki?"

"He's strong without a doubt. I'm sure he's strong enough to inflict serious injuries on Komiya and the others without them noticing."

"I would have made him suffer an equal or greater injury to avenge them, but unfortunately, we're right in front Sakagami-sensei. I'll give you a break, because I know there's nothing waiting for you except expulsion."

If these facts are confirmed and it is proven that Yagami-kun injured those two on the island, it's not just a simple matter of suspension.

Expulsion is inevitable without any extenuating circumstances.

When Ryuuen-kun removes his hand from his hair, Yagami-kun turns his head to look at me.

"So? What are you doing here, Suzune?"

"I..... I had some research to do on Yagami, too."

"Oh? Is that so?"

If you come this far, I have no choice but to tell them everything.

I've been looking for a student who was beautiful handwriting.

I came here to check Yagami's notes because his handwriting was similar to the one on the paper.

I pulled out his notebook and opened it to the page where Yagami-kun wrote the notes of the meeting.

"The handwriting on that paper and Yagami's handwriting were almost identical. It fits in with my memory."

"Let's see if you can explain what's going on here, Yagami."

Student council president Nagumo-san is still unsure of what is going on.

Domething mysterious was surely going on here.

While all of the characters are related to Yagami-kun, none of them have a definitive point of reference.

There was no one who could be the most important key.

How could this possibly be?

If it all started with that one love letter, then..

And if they entrusted the letter to Yagami-kun, did they also plan for Yagami-kun to see what's inside?

They also knew for sure that Yagami-kun would analyze the anagram inside of it...

But I don't think they knew that I had didn't have my doubts after reading the handwriting of Yagami-kun's notes.

No, I don't think that even has anything to do with it.

I am just an outsider. Ibuki-san is also an outsider.

If me and Ibuki-san weren't here, this sequence of events would've still happened.

When Yagami-kun came to the student council room, he should not have been questioned by the president of the student council, Nagumo-san.

But is such a thing possible?

Even if it were possible, who would do it?

When and where?

No, these questions themselves may be wrong.

It would not be surprising at all if Ayakoji-kun was behind this incident...

Ryuuen-kun and Komiya-kun's group appeared unnaturally in this place. Along with the teachers.

It was in order to surround Yagami-kun from all sides as he tried to evade the situation.

"I'm surprised too, but it can't be helped. We were playing with fire too much. "

Ryuuen-kun started to laugh.

"Why -- why is this happening? This is so stupid..."

"I don't know what's going on here, but you've been cornered."

"I'm still in a state where I can't even fight him ...... or even less than that? This is where it all ends? It can't be over, that's ridiculous ......!"

Yagami's whole body trembled and he shouted in a voice never heard before.

"You mean you didn't even have to deal with me ...... directly? Ha ha ...... ha ...... ha ......! Stop screwing around, stop screwing around!"

"Shut the hell up. Don't squeal so loudly near me."

Ryuuen-kun sticks his pinky in his right ear and mutters annoyingly.

Perhaps he didn't hear him. Yagami-kun's excitement didn't go away.

"I don't care. I'm going to kill him right now, right now, with my own hands, right? Then I should be able to go back to where I belong! I'll take him with me!"

The presence of the two faculty members in the room seemed to be completely irrelevant to him.

He shown a clear sudden change and gets even angrier.

Just as he was about to take a strong step toward Ryuuen-kun, Ibuki-san jumped behind him and kicked Yagami.

Without looking back, Yagami-kun slammed his elbows into her abdomen as soon as she landed it.

"Gghh!"

Just one shot. Ibuki collapsed on the spot, unable to get back up.

"Stop it, Yagami!"

The teachers were running to stop Yagami, when Ryuuen-kun stopped them.

"Keep back. Yagami is motivated. If that's the case, I'll take it, won't I?"

Ryuuen-kun clapped his fists without worrying that this is the student council room.

"You can't possibly stop me. Whoever stands in front of me from now on, I will show no mercy. It doesn't matter if it's a woman or a teacher. If you don't want to suffer the same pain as Komiya and the others, then shut up and back off."

"Kuku. That's your true nature, isn't it? It's funny, isn't it?"

Without hesitation, Ryuuen-kun took a step forward and held his arms out in a provocative manner.

"I'll gladly stand in your way, so come at me."

The atmosphere that comes from his small size is not that of a "normal student" he gives off the same vibes as Ayanokoji-kun or Amasawa-san.

Ryuuen-kun is very motivated, but I don't think he can be stopped.

But we have to do something to stop him.

He is driven by the urge to destroy everything, regardless of the presence of the teachers.

If we let him go, there is no guarantee that we will be able to stop his rampage.

And he'll head towards where Ayanokoji-kun is.

If something like this happens in the middle of the festival, a warning won't suffice.

"Stop it, Yagami. And Ryuuen too. If you start a fight here, you will be severely penalized."

"My expulsion is 100% unavoidable. If that's the case, there's no reason for me to stop, right Mashima?"

Yagami Kun does not even address him as a "sensei," but instead just refers to him as "Mashima."
But Mashima still stepped in between Yagami-kun and Ryuuen-kun as a teacher.

"Get lost."

He then kicked Mashima-sensei in the knee, breaking his kneecap and slammed his fist into his face.

Sakagami-sensei witnessed this from nearby and moved away as if in fear.

This was so exciting to Ryuuen-kun that he was about to jump on Yagami-kun right before-
"Let's stop, Takuya."

The door to the student council room opened and Amasawa-san appeared, her eyes red and swollen.

"Huh? Why are you here... since when..."

Yagami-kun stopped in his tacks when it seemed like nobody was able to reach him.

"What's going to happen to you if you go on any more of a rampage? Do you really think you will be accepted? It's already... over now."

"No, it's not! The teachers are waiting for me! I'm going to the first!"

What did he mean by the teachers?

At the very least, I can assume that they are not teachers at this school.

"Today I was planning to end the festival on a high note by exposing his past, but he's gone and done something crazy....."

"Takuya, you really meant that, didn't you...?"

"Get out of my way. I'll make Ayanokoji regret it. It'll be so funny that you won't be able to stop laughing....!"

"If you insist on going to where Ayanokoji-senpai is, I will stop you first."

"You? You've never beaten me, not even once. Don't make me laugh."

"Maybe I can't win by force. But.... I'll give it my best shot."

"I knew you had a crush on Ayanokoji, but to think you were this stupid."

"I'm just learning. A frog in a well that does not know the sea. It's just like that one story we learned about before."

"If that's the case, just die already. There is no meaning for you to be alive."

Just when Amasawa-san had made up her mind, multiple footsteps could be heard coming from the other side of the hallway.

Five adults, all with blank expressions, stepped into the student council chambers.

Not all of them were recognizable, but two of the five were the guests of honor who had also shown up at the maid's coffee shop.

Yagami, who had been out of control until a few minutes ago, suddenly began to tremble.

"Hey, w..why are you guys here....? Why?"

"I got a call to come to the student council office to pick you up. This was a little different than we had planned."

Yagami, who was acting like a maniac until just a few minutes ago, was now frightened like a child.

It was almost like he seemed to be afraid that his parents would find out and blame him for the incident.

Surrounded by adults, Yagami was taken away without resistance.

Amasawa-san started to walk with him.

"You people are...."

Mashima-sensei stands up, holding back the pain, and confirms the situation.

"We are related to Yagami and Amasawa. We will take care of this situation, so please treat yourself. Please do not tell anyone else about what happened here, including teachers and students. We will pass everything on to Director Sakayanagi, so please rest assured."
